Iran short animation ‘Alphabet’ is set to vie at Mt. Fuji - Atami Film & VR Festival in Japan.

Directed by Kianoush Abedi, the 6-minute animated piece will compete at the first edition of Japan event.

‘Alphabet’ portrays a nation that has forgotten the alphabet of living. They cannot see, cannot hear, and cannot speak, but the words are waiting for them eagerly.

The toon has so far attended several international film events and bagged a number of titles, including the Best Short award at the Sayulita Film Festival in Mexico and the Best Experimental and Animation award at the 6th Speechless Film Festival (SFF) in the US.

The Mt. Fuji - Atami Film and Virtual Reality Festival is an annual film festival meant to showcase innovative independent cinema and new virtual reality from around the world

The event offers six categories and twelve awards along with a gala opening and closing ceremony.

According to the fest official website, the film event scheduled for June 28 - July 1, 2018 turns Atami city to "Hollywood of Japan."
